How I work:
I focus on UX for B2B products. I love helping people with nuanced needs, and solving their complex problems. But my real superpower is building cross-functional teams. How?
I cultivate user empathy across the team, even if UX isn’t in their title. I find the folks most excited about Design and build a cohort. I host open office hours to encourage discussion. I run co-working sessions instead of meetings. I always share my research, but I’d love to bring you to the next interview.
It’s not design-by-committee, it’s enablement-of-community. I work from the point of view that we can design something great, and it’s my job to figure out how.
What I believe:
//UX requires a commitment to constant, blameless, and vulnerable collaboration.
This takes so much more than Zoom or X days a week acting busy in the office. Teams must have a shared belief in the mission, firsthand empathy, and psychological safety. Collaboration is built on purpose.
//Iteration, testing, and occasionally shipping janky designs are crucial to growth.
Strong opinions that are loosely held provide the greatest outcomes. An innovative designer must be simultaneously knowledgeable, cavalier, curious and humble. Practical learning is the most informative.
//UX, design, tech, and business are forever linked. Exclusivity inhibits opportunity.
UX’ers must be accessible, generous, and inspiring. They have to care about the big picture, and learn to work within it. Enabling designers must help their teammates find their own human-serving north star.
//UX requires a champion, obsessed with the bright future and the practical present.
Design requires influence and persistence - compared to tickets or a roadmap it’s forever malleable. Teams require a strong voice to advocate for customers and users before they churn to a competitor.
Whether you’re building your dream UX team or expanding it, I’m ready to go on the journey with you.
Let’s chat and I’d love to tell you more about my favorite wins, including: a fully tokenized design system, selling a sales team on user research, increasing cold lead conversions, or the two charts that convinced 100 managers to change course.
If you’ve made it here then you know I clearly love what I do, and I’m not at all shy about talking about it. I’d love to see what we can build together!
